RooMate Web brings the school-day tools that matter most to Windows, Chromebooks, and any modern browser. It is a real RooMate client, not a stripped-down school portal or a wrapper around the Mac app.

RooMate does not need an account. On Mac, your profile and setup stay on your Mac. On RooMate Web, personal setup stays in that browser on that device. Mac and Web do not sync yet. General app-use and broad loading information may be measured to improve reliability, but personal school details are not included in RooMate analytics.

Is RooMate free?
Yes. RooMate is free to download and use.
Where can I use RooMate?
The native Mac app requires macOS 14 or later and works on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. RooMate Web works in modern browsers, including on Windows and Chromebooks.
Is RooMate an official school app?
No. RooMate is an independent student project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any school.
Does RooMate need an account?
No. You can set up RooMate without an account. Mac settings stay on your Mac, and RooMate Web settings stay in that browser for now.
Does RooMate Web have everything the Mac app has?
The core RooMate experience is available on the web: Today, Schedule, Dining, Sports games, Clubs, Events, PacTrack, Profile, Links, search, and local personalization. Mac-only tools such as the menu bar companion, floating timer, Sparkle updates, and native background notification behavior stay exclusive to the Mac app.
Does my setup sync between Mac and Web?
Not yet. RooMate Web intentionally stores personalization locally in your browser for now, so your Mac and Web setups are separate.
How do updates work?
The Mac app checks for signed updates and can also be downloaded from GitHub. RooMate Web updates as the web app is deployed, so there is nothing separate to download.
